Careening with luxury, royalty, power and speed, Jaguar cars are a dream for those who wish to wield status icons, who hunt for adventure, and who pounce on the faint-hearted. Jaguar Cars Ltd., popularly known as simply Jaguar, is a famous British manufacturer of state-of the-art luxury cars based in Coventry, England. It was first founded in 1922 by Sir William Lyons under the name Swallow Sidecar Company. The name was later on changed to Jaguar to avoid troubles and issues that would probably arise from the abbreviation SS. The company has changed ownership numerous times until it finally landed on Ford in 1989. Another notable thing about Jaguar is the fact that it possesses royal warrants from both HM Queen Elizabeth and HRM Prince Charles. There are four most remarkable Jaguar models: the X-Type, the XF, the XK, and the XJ. The Jaguar X-Type is a compact executive car released in 2001 which is available as saloon and estate. The Jaguar XF, meanwhile, is a mid-size executive car launched in 2008 with engines ranging from V6 diesel or petrol to 5.0 litre V8 supercharged V petrol. The Jaguar XK is a luxury grand tourer introduced in 2006, available either as two-door coupe or two-door convertible. Last is the Jaguar XJ, the company’s flagship model. It is a full-size luxury saloon that has been in the market since 1968, and whose newest version was released on July 2009 at the London Saatchi Gallery.
